The remains of Precious Owolabi, the corps member whose life was tragically cut short after a stray bullet hit him during the Shi'ites and Police clash in Abuja on Monday July 22nd, has been laid to rest. Owolabi whose service year was meant to end in three months time, was buried today at the Wusasa cemetery Zaria, amidst a lot of weeping and wailing from his family members, fellow corps members, colleagues and friends.
Channels TV has announced the death of its reporter shot during the clash between the police and Shiite protesters in Abuja. The reporter, Precious Owolabi was working with the TV station as a member of the National Youth Service Corps. The 23-year-old died of a gunshot wound he sustained while covering the clash between the police and the Shiite protesters on Monday in Abuja. The management and staff of Channels Television are saddened by his demise and pray that God will grant his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, and avail his soul eternal rest. Owolabi was the second death to be announced in connection with clash in Abuja today between Shiite protesters and the police The police earlier said they lost a deputy commissioner, Usman Umar who was in charge of Operations, FCT Command. 29 year old man simply identified as Mr. Uzor, has been arrested for allegedly raping a 15 year old girl in Asaba, Delta state yesterday July 19th. Activist Harrison Gwamnishu who shared the story, said the victim lives in his house while the suspect is his neighbor. The suspect took advantage of his absence and raped the victim. 15year old girl who lives in my house was raped this afternoon by a laundry boy who happens to be my neighbor. He raped the girl right inside my house. This afternoon, I left Asaba to Enugu State for Emergency meeting not knowing he wanted me to avoid committing murder. Under my roof a man raped my daughter. Algeria has won the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with a 1-0 victory over Senegal. The final match was played yesterday evening in Egypt, the host country for the tournament. Algeria's Baghdad Bounedjah scored a freak goal in the 3rd minute when his shot took a huge deflection off a Senegalese player and looped in for Algeria. This will be Algeria’s second time of winning the AFCON after 29 years.
Two suspects linked to the murder of 24-year-old Chinedu Okoye, have been arrested by the Anambra State Police Command. It was gathered that the suspects, 28-year-old Dabem Okekem and 37-year-old Okechukwu Okafor had barged into the house of one Ifenyichukwu Kamsisichukwu in Ogidi Aniuku village, where they forced her to open the door and took Okoye away. Dabem, the principal suspect that pulled the trigger, had reportedly been having heated confrontations with the deceased over Ifenyichukwu before the murder incident occurred.
Yinka Ayefele, Nigerian gospel artist, has confirmed the arrival of a set of triplets with his wife, Temitope. Mrs Ayefele welcomed the babies, two boys and a girl, in Maryland, USA. The 51-year-old musician shared a video of himself with the babies on his Instagram page this afternoon Friday July 19th. “FAVOURED,” he wrote. In June, there were reports that the singer's wife had welcomed the triplets in the US. He however denied the reports, saying it was fake news. The  media aide to the singer, David Ajiboye, who confirmed the arrival of the triplets, said Ayefele had earlier denied the delivery of the babies because he doubted the credibility of the source who had contacted him for information on the matter in June. Ayefele got married in 2000, three years after he was involved in a car crash where he sustained a spinal cord injury. Celebrities have sent out congratulatory messages to him on the arrival of his bundles of joy.

Three persons have been confirmed dead, while 11 persons were injured when a commercial bus plunged into Ogun River, otherwise known as Ososa River, on the Ijebu-Ode/Sagamu Expressway in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. The accident, which involved a yellow Mazda E220 commercial bus, occurred on Thursday at 10:32 am reportedly due to alleged mechanical fault. The Ogun State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corp, Clement Oladele, confirmed the incident. Oladele in a statement said, “A total of 14 people comprising five male adults and nine female adults were involved in the fatal crash. “The people injured were 11, comprising five males and six females. “A total of three people died in the crash made up of one male and two females.” The FRSC boss further explained that the accident was a lone crash. Actor Seun Ajayi has announced his exit from COZA following the rape allegations against the senior pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo and how the church has managed it thus far. In a post shared on his IG page, Seun questionned the loyalty of COZA Lagos branch head pastor, Pastor Flo. According to Seun, Pastor Flo, whose name has been mentioned in both the cases of Ese Walter and Busola Dakolo, seems to have always covered up for Pastor Biodun and has been silent in the face of the recent rape allegation.
