An electrician lost his life while working on a transformer, on Wednesday, in Eliozu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State. According to an eyewitness, the deceased had forgotten to remove the transformer fuses before proceeding to work on the electricity pole, only for power to be restored and electrocuted him. His remains has since been moved to a morgue.

Latoshia Daniels, 39, will spend some time in the slammer after the jilted damsel shot and killed Reverend Brodes Perry because he refused to divorce his wife. The incident happened on April 4th inside the reverend’s apartment in Collierville, Tennessee, US. Perry served as Executive Pastor at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church. Daniels, a licensed social worker, is believed to be his mistress and she specializes in domestic violence and anger management. According to police reports, Latoshia showed up at the pastor’s crib around 10:00 p.m. wanting to talk. Perry was gone, but his wife – Tabatha – let her in. “Tabatha stated she was unaware of Brodes having an affair, but Latarshia‘s actions and statements led her to believe that she was possibly having an affair with her husband,” the incident report said. Malaria vaccine now being tested in Malawi

A large-scale pilot of what has been called the world's first malaria vaccine to give partial protection to children has begun in Malawi. The RTS,S vaccine trains the immune system to attack the malaria parasite, which is spread by mosquito bites.  Earlier, smaller trials showed that nearly 40% of the 5-to-17-month-olds who received it were protected.  Malaria cases appear to be on the rise again after a decade of success in combating the deadly disease.  "This is a landmark moment for immunisations, malaria control, and public health," Dr Kate O'Brien, Director of Immunisation and Vaccines at the World Health Organization, told the BBC. According to the most recent annual figures, global malaria cases are no longer falling, sparking concerns about its resurgence. At least ten suspected cultists have been killed at separate cult clashes in Sagamu and Iperu area of Ogun State during cult clashes between rival groups which started Monday night. While about Nine of them were reportedly killed between Monday and Tuesday in Sagamu, one other member of Eiye was reportedly killed in his shop in Iperu allegedly by the Aiye group. According to reports, the crisis broke out in Sagamu between the cult rivals groups during a night party tagged Easter Mega Night show and six years anniversary of a group called ‘Infinity Base’ organised by a man identified as Basogun. It was further gathered that the crises dated back to the election period where a member of Aiye confraternity was killed by cult members believed to be Eiye members and since then, there has been a no love lost relationship between the two dominant groups in Sagamu.

A fight over some prostitutes escalated and degenerated into such extreme violence that it resulted in the deaths of two soldiers while a third one was seriously injured. This happened in Bindura’s Chipadze suburb in Zimbabwe. According to Zimlive, four soldiers clashed with artisanal miners over the ladies at around 1 AM on Tuesday. The fight which initially started with an argument inside the bar, moved outside where the miners attacked the soldiers with machetes, knives and empty beer bottles resulting in the fatalities. The Zimbabwe National Army confirmed the incident saying that the four soldiers had been involved in an “altercation” with the miners. The police and the army responded to the deaths in full force and rounded up dozens of women who are suspected to be prostitutes from the Chipadze and Chiwaridzo neighbourhoods. Kenyan journalist, Soni Methu, a one-time host of CNN's "Inside Africa," has died at the age of 34.  She died on Thursday April 11th after collapsing from pains in her stomach, her sister, Faith Methu, said in a statement. Faith Methu said it looked like her sister was having a seizure and she died en route to the hospital. "We don't know much but a post mortem will be done to tell exactly what happened," Faith Methu said. Soni Methu hosted "Inside Africa," CNN International's longest-running feature program, from 2014 until 2015 when the show moved to a new format without a presenter. "We are shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of our friend and former colleague Soni Methu. Our heartfelt condolences to her family and friends, from all at CNN" CNN said in a statement.
