Residents of Old Express off Sameck junction by Faulks road in Aba, the commercial nerve of Abia State were on Wednesday thrown into mourning following the collapse of a three- storey building that killed one of its occupants. The incident followed the collapse of another uncompleted three-storey building at Park road by East after a torrential rain that wrecked havocs in Aba and Umuahia, the Abia State capital. While the incident at park road was attributed to use of inferior materials by the contractor, it was gathered the building at Old Express collapsed into the ground as a result of persistent waterlog that weakened its foundation. Efforts were however still ongoing to rescue one of the trapped tenants in the rubble. The trapped resident was said to have called his relatives to inform them he was under the collapsed structure at Old Express. Bloomberg Billionaires Index, a ranking of the world’s 500 richest people, showed that Dangot's wealth fell from $10.5bn at the end of 2018 to $9.63bn on January 1, 2019. But it grew to $10.8bn on Monday, February 25. His net worth increased by 23 per cent from $13.5bn on February 26, 2018, to $16.6bn, making him the 64th richest person in the world. A girl was stripped and publicly humiliated after she was allegedly caught stealing in Auchi area of Edo state. Following the collation of results of the 23 February election the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate and incumbent president, Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the 2019 Presidential election on Wednesday. Buhari defeated the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and other presidential candidates with over 15,191,847 votes, winning in 19 of the states.

British far-right activist, Tommy Robinson has been banned from Facebook and Instagram for repeatedly posting dehumanizing language and "calls for violence targeted at Muslims". The Returning Officer for the Imo West senatorial district election, Professor Ibeawuchi Innocent, has said that he was made to declare Governor Rochas Okorocha the winner of the election under duress. Ibeawuchi said this while announcing the results of the poll held in the district on Monday February 25th. “I declared this thing before under duress. I’m still under duress declaring this one. That Okorocha Anayo Rochas of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, has scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.” he said According to the result announced by Ibeawuchi, Okorocha of the APC polled a total of 97,762 votes to defeat the PDP candidate, Jones Onyereri, who scored 68,117 votes.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced the presidential election results in the 21 Local Government Areas of Anambra with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar polling 524, 738 votes. Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), won in all the 21 council areas, while President Muhammadu Buhari’s APC emerged second with 33, 298 votes. Prof. Francis Otunta, Vice Chancellor of the Michael Okpara University, Umudike, who served as INEC Collation Officer for the 2019 Presidential Election in Anambra released the results in the early hours of Tuesday in Awka. Otunta stated that Mr John Gbor, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), scored 30, 034 votes to emerge third, with Prof. Kingsley Moghalu, the candidate of the Young Progressives Party polling only 4, 091 votes.
